We are excited to introduce you to Artist Barry Blankenship!

Q: What inspires you about Bremerton? A: I like that I can walk to most of my favorite spots, be near the water, see an occasional whale or navy vessel. And so far the rent is slightly better than Seattle. Q: What drew you to your medium? A: I Started doing gigposters for bands I was in as well as my friends' bands and the typical deliverable is a screen printed poster, I'm still figuring out the best ways to screen print. Q: What is your favorite local spot? A: My ideal weekend would entail hitting up El Balcon for a burrito, swing by Ashley's Pub for a pint and some pinball, walking over the bridge for some delicious pastries (or their fantastic pizza) from Saboteur and sitting and drawing at Der Blokken Brewery. Q: Where do you find inspiration? A: I'm heavily inspired by movies, music, comic books and experiences I've had when I was young. I tend to try and lean into things that are surreal or slightly science fiction or mysterious. Q: What does your perfect First Friday look like? A: A solid group of friends walking from each location starting in downtown Bremerton and ending in Manette talking about what we like about the art we view. Q: Where can we find more of your art? A: @BarryTheArtguy on things.
