Meet Western Dawn Art
Q: What inspires you about Bremerton?
A: I love how much the community cares to build events and spaces that foster connection. Especially within the arts community, there are so many people who want to see Bremerton succeed and who are creating spaces for creativity.
Q: What drew you to your medium?
A: I have always loved creating jewelry, as a little kid I would collect found things, old jewelry and take wire from my dad's workshop to make pieces. As an adult I was drawn back to creating jewelry and kept learning new techniques to further my skills and push the boundaries of what I can make. I feel a strong connection to silver and it brings me so much joy to create high quality adornments from silver & gemstones.
Q: What is your favorite local spot?
A: I love Cafe Corvo! Delicious coffee in such a cozy community space!
Q: Where do you find inspiration?
A: I gather inspiration from the natural world, from minerals and motifs. I am especially drawn to organic forms and ethereal, celestial themes. I create pieces intended to bring a sparkle of magic into your life, talismans to adorn you.
Q: What does your perfect First Friday look like?
A: You can almost always find me at Rimbert Illustration! I have a table set up and there is always an amazing group of other makers as well as a new themed art show each month!
