Meet Artist Matt Taylor- owner of Dyed in the Wild!

Matt Taylor

Q: What inspires you about Bremerton?

A: I found my inspiration for my business and was drawn to my medium while staying at home with my terminally ill mother. Tie dye gave me something to keep me occupied while being a full time caretaker and helped me find my inner artist.

Q: What drew you to your medium?

A: I have been a Bremerton resident since the 90's and love this town and community. I love the grittiness and hardworking aspect of the shipyard community intermixed with the growing art community. Being connected to Seattle by ferry offers the ability to be both close to the excitement of the city and far enough away to be peaceful.

Q: What is your favorite local spot?

A: Some of my favorite local spots include breakfast at the Daily Reggae Cafe, donuts from Larry & Kristi's, pizza from Loco Pizza and treats for my puppies from Gastro Pup. My favorite non-business-related spot is Evergreen park. It's a great place to relax and explore.

Q: Where do you find inspiration?

A: I find inspiration in the arts and crafts of others. Seeing what someone else has created with their hands will always be fascinating and inspiring to me.

Q: Where can we find more of your art?

A: I'm happy to be involved in First Friday, even though I'm a little off the path. You can find my work at my store (107 Washington Ave) and on Facebook and Instagram under Dyed in the Wild.
