Artist Interview: DM Potwin

We can’t wait to introduce you to artist DM Potwin! 

Q: What inspires you about Bremerton?

A: Being surrounded by ocean, forest and mountains, the abundance of food that naturally grows here, the people, the way art and makers are supported.

Q: What drew you to your medium?

A: The tactile aspect and the ability to make impressions and reveal deliciously intricate textures of natural and manmade objects.

Q: What is your favorite local spot?

A: This is hard! Ilahee Preserve, Saboteur, Taqueros, Ristretto Stone, Restaurant Lola.

Q: Where do you find inspiration?

A: In nature, food, language, color and my interactions and connections with loved ones and people around me.

Q: What does your perfect First Friday look like?

A: Hanging out on Callow at Rimbert Illustration, meeting new people and chatting with makers to see what they’re up to and the new objects they’re making. Coffee at Cafe Corvo!

Q: Where can we find more of your art?

A: I’m a vendor at Callow Makers Market every other month (will be there this Fri!), my ig is @elephantshoestudio and my website is www.daniellempotwin.com.o
