Flotsam Studio - Anna Okrasinski Maddx

Check out Flotsam Studio, where local artist Anna Okrasinski Maddx creates up-cycled Jewlery. She is also a talented collage artist.

Q: What inspires you about Bremerton?

A: The burgeoning art/maker/creative community! I love the vibe of the community and the true sense of support and encouragement!

Q: What drew you to your medium?

A: I work mainly glue stuff to other stuff but I love dabbling in all kinds of techniques and supplies. Collage is immediate however, and I am an instant gratification kinda gal! My current foray into upcycled tin jewelry is an extension of my love affair with collage.

Q: What is your favorite local spot?

A: I’m still getting to know downtown but I’m a huge fan of Hound & Bottle and I love Another Castle. Also, the Bremerton Flea!

Q: Where do you find inspiration?

A: Everywhere! I’m truly inspired by my materials. I’m always on the lookout for vintage tins and vintage papers and when I make a connection, it sparks new ideas.

Q: Where can we find more of your art?

A: My jewelry can be found at Shift/Bainbridge Island as well as Josephine’s Mercantile in Port Orchard and every once in a while on Etsy (Flostam Studio Shop). You can *always* find me on Instagram. It’s my favorite still, despite the algorithm.
