Helping shape a more vibrant, welcoming Downtown Bremerton.
The Beautify Bremerton Grant Program is a Downtown Bremerton Association (DBA) administered initiative designed to enhance the safety, attractiveness, and overall experience of Downtown Bremerton for residents, businesses, and visitors alike. Grants are intended to serve as a catalyst — helping offset project costs, encourage private investment, and accelerate improvements that might not otherwise move forward. By focusing on visible, place-based enhancements, the program supports long-term economic vitality while reinforcing Downtown Bremerton as a destination for shopping, dining, arts, culture, and community gathering.
How Funds Are Used
Through the Main Street Tax Incentive, the Downtown Bremerton Association has a new funding source of donated funds that we've directed into our new Beautify Bremerton Grant Program.
These Grants may be awarded to local businesses, property owners, or organizations for projects that contribute to downtown beautification and placemaking.
Eligible projects may include, but are not limited to:

Façade improvements

Murals and public art

Lighting enhancements

Landscaping and seasonal plantings

Window art for vacant storefronts

Bike racks with custom or artistic designs

Other projects that create a more vibrant, welcoming downtown environment
WHY IT MATTERS
When our downtown is clean, beautiful, and welcoming it encourages people to linger longer, explore more businesses, and return more often. Attractive, well-maintained spaces foster community pride, strengthen neighborhood identity, and support economic vitality. It signals momentum, opportunity, and a place where businesses and people can thrive together.
Simply put, beautification isn’t just cosmetic — it’s foundational to creating a downtown that feels alive, connected, and resilient.
How the Program Is Funded
As a designated Washington State Main Street Community, our businesses can take advantage of the Main Street Tax Credit Incentive and receive a 75% tax credit back on their donations.
When individuals or businesses donate to the DBA through the Main Street Tax Credit Incentive, those dollars go directly into our Grant Program and are reinvested locally — creating visible, high-impact improvements to our Downtown.
The more people who “buy into” the Main Street Tax Credit Incentive, the more funding becomes available for projects that directly improve Downtown Bremerton.
